Report of the Training Workshop on “Advanced Management and Leadership Skills for Experienced Administrators” organized by PAMS International Consulting, at IBBU Guest House, Minna, Niger State; between 17th – 21 September, 2012.
In recognition of the importance of Management and Leadership Skills in an organization; PAMS International Consulting organized a five-day training workshop titled “Advanced Management and Leadership Skills for Experienced Administrators” for staff of NAFDAC and was attended by PR&S staff between 17th – 21 September, 2012. We (i.e. the attendees) therefore, present the report of the training workshop as follows: Organizers & Facilitators

Duration of the Workshop
The training programme lasted for five (5) days. It started on the 17th -21st September, 2012. Opening Remarks
The workshop was declared open by the Managing Consultant of PAMS International Consulting, Mr. Kenny Ogunbiyi. He welcomed all the participants/attendees and assured them of a hitch-free workshop by God’s grace as according to him all modalities were put in place to ensure a successful training programme. In reaction, the Deputy Director in charge of Planning and Trainings, Mr. Agada, E.A. on behalf of NAFDAC, and the attendees, thanked God for journey mercies to the venue of the programme and pledged our maximum cooperation with the facilitators. The major objective of the workshop was to equip participants with the requisite skills and strategies that facilitate achievement of organizational goals and desirable results through effective management of workforce. While the specific objectives among others include:
To set and negotiate goals and priorities in partnership with mangers and clients
Build high performing teams; improve communication, trust and interpersonal relationships
Take calculated risk to exploit untapped opportunities
Prevent crisis, mange conflicts, difficult people, awkward situations assertively using Fisher’s framework
Assume more leadership and management responsibilities without the benefit of authority.
Organize days and manage time including deadlines, etc
The facilitators organized their topics in modules and adopted various methods in delivering their lessons. These include:
A participated Approach: Here participants were provided with the opportunity to interact and discuss challenges of office management and administration in NAFDAC with a view to exchanging ideas on how to improve their performance. Daily reviews and recap of previous day’s work was also done by volunteered participants to bring to memory what was learnt the previous day.
Practical Approach: Here, the facilitators brought their valid experiences to bear, in order to build confidence in participants. Participants were also...
