INTRODUCTION

Computer has become a way of life since everything is easy by having just a click away from the problem. It only needs two characteristics to make it work, one who know how to use it and one who understands. Though manual system is still used, computer generated is still the simplest way and hassle free to work on especially in business transaction. In most rental stores, daily transactions are still done manually. Transaction processing system has become a competitive necessity and are always more profitable.

An inventory system is basically a process whereby a business keeps track of the goods and materials’ availability. Inventory is basically the total amount of goods and materials held in stock by a factory, store and other business. For a business to be run efficiently it is important that they keep a record of their inventory as this keeps them informed of when they are running short of stocks and need to restock to ensure they can serve their customers. An inventory system is used for this purpose. (www.studymode.com). Torres Catering Services was established on October 2006 and is located at Soldiers IV Molino; Bacoor Cavite. The catering started its service by using manual process and transactions such as registration of customer’s information, adding of equipment and supplier’s information. The business records transactions by the use of logbooks. The owner checks the availability of equipments through the use of manual counting. Updating returned and unreturned equipments are done manually. The business has one manager that handles and accommodates a maximum of seven occasions and events per day. Some problems are encountered regarding the transactions in the renting of equipment. The general problem being encountered by the business is having unclear transactions with their customers.
