1. who is an immigrant (Ku-5)
An immigrant is a person who leaves their country of citizen ship to live or set up permanent residence in another country. This person must have clearance from both countries to leave or they would be classified as an illegal or undocumented immigrant. There are two types of immigrants: * Legal Immigrant

* Undocumented/Illegal Immigrant
A legal immigrant is a person who acquires the proper documentation to leave their country and settle. A illegal immigrant is a person who moves to another country and does not have any legal documents to stay in the country. So at the end of the day this is what it means to be an immigrant. Immigrants are all over the world in out countries it is very important to educate you self on what is an immigrant

2. Why do immigrants leave their countries?( JPR-10)
Immigrants leave their countries for all sorts of reason. Here in the Bahamas immigrants come largely from countries such as Haiti and Jamaica with smaller numbers from at least a dozen other nations including, China, Philippians and Cuba. The three major reasons why immigrants leave their countries include the following reasons Economic. The Bahamas is considered to be the third most prosperous nation in the western hemisphere behind the United States and Canada making it a very attractive destination for immigrants seeking improved economic circumstances and a better way of life. The majority of persons migrate for economic reasons. Political. A very small number come to The Bahamas for political reasons. No doubt The Bahamas has a stable democracy and a high degree of personal, political and religious freedom. In many countries these freedoms have been suppressed and so persons come here to escape the oppression of their countries. Business and professional Skills available in one country may not be available in another. Persons may migrate to another country in order to provide certain expertise such as Medical, Technical, educational or financial. His is usually because the expertise is either in short supply or not available at all. In conclusion I believe that it is right for a person to migrate to another country if he or she has the potential of living a better life than they once had.

Investigation and research shows that the Haitian population has grown tremendously in the Bahamas, due to illegal immigrants sneaking into the Bahamas and the lack of immigration officers cracking down on them. Also...
