CONTENT OF ANALYSIS

Objectives and Scope

The study aimed to determine the relationship between academic performance and OJT performance of Associate in Information Technology Graduates of Southern Iloilo Polytechnic College – Western Visayas College of Science and Technology – Miagao Campus graduates from S. Y. 2010-2011 to 2011-2012.

Specifically, it sought to answer the following questions:
1. What is the level of academic performance of the two sets of subjects every school year? 2. What is the level of OJT performance of the two sets of subjects every school year? 3. What is the over-all level of academic performance and OJT performance of the two sets of subjects? 4. What is the correlation between academic performance and OJT performance of the two sets of subjects for every school year? 5. Is there a significant difference in the correlation of academic performance and OJT performance of the two sets of subjects between two school year? 6. Is there a significant difference in the correlation of academic performance and OJT performance between the two sets of subjects as a whole?

The subjects of this study were the Associate in Information Technology graduates who had undergone OJT. The number of samples was the total population of graduates for the academic year 2010-2011 to 2011-2012. The researchers gathered data from the Registrar’s Office of SIPC-WVCST – Miagao Campus. The data gathered were the General Point Average (GPA) of their academic performance and the OJT performance rating of Associate in Information Technology graduates from S. Y. 2010-2011 to 2011-2012. The subjects were 20% for each variable for every year. Stratified random sampling was used in selecting the subjects.

The statistical tools used in the study in analyzing and interpreting the data were the Mean, Pearson Product Moment Correlation on Coefficient, the Fisher’s Z, the standard of error of the difference of Z’s and test for significance.
