Rhetoric Analysis Essay

Have you ever wondered how other people can say things to get you to stand up for something you or others people believe? In this essay i will talk about how in Martin Luther King Jr’s, “Ihave a Dream” speech and in Mary Fisher’s, “AIDS” Speech they both talk about how the people need to stand up for themselves and in these next paragraphs there are examples of how they persuae people to look things through their own eyes. Both Martin Luther King and Mary Fisher successfully use pathos as a rhetorical appeal to get into peoples feelings and make them see things through the speakers eyes.

As more time pases, people get used to how other people treat them but there comes a time when people need to stand up for themselves and their society. ”We have killed each other with our ignorance, our prejudice and, our silence”. (Fisher,1992). This quote is an example of how People have put each other down and discriminate them selves because of fear of ignorance and it affects people emotionally. “When will you be satisfied? We can never be satisfied as long as the negro is the victim of unspeakable horrors of police brutality”. (King,1963). This Quote is an example of how the black community would not give up into dey get justice and police stop being racist. also that the black community has to stand up to the higher force to become more powerful.

People need to learn to stand up to things that put you down and you need to stand up to your fears. “If you believe you are safe, you are at risk”. (Fisher,1992). this quote in other words means that even tho people believe they are not at risk and nothing will happen to them, they are wrong and they need to realize the truth. everybody is at risk of having anything happen to them. now is the time to rise from dark and desolate valley of segregation to the sunlit path of racial justice. now is the time to lift our nation from the quicksand of racial injustice to the solid rock of brotherhood.....
