Occupational therapy will encourage patients to undertake specific selected activity that will help them to reach their maximum level of function and independence in all aspects of daily life. These activities are designed to make the best use of the patient's capabilities and are based on individual requirements. They range from woodwork, metalwork, and printing to pottery and other artistic activities, household management and social skills.
Tie-dye is a process of resists dyeing textiles or clothing that is made from knit or woven fabric; usually cotton, typically using bright colors. It is a modern version of traditional dyeing methods used in many cultures throughout the world. "Tie-dye" can also describe the resulting pattern or an item that features this pattern. Tie-dyeing became fashionable in the West in the late 1960s and early 1970s as part of hippie style.
II. Therapeutic Values
For this therapy, they will learn how to create a tie-dyed shirt that is very simple and economical. They will learn that old white shirts can turn into fashionable clothing that will suit to every ones liking. By making these simple tie-dyed shirts, patient will enable to enhance their creativity and motor skills that will bring about their artistry and independency. It is not complicated to create this colorful and eye-catching tie-dyed shirt; hence, it will make them motivated as we go along the process on how to make it. Patients will somehow be enlightened on what they can do for a living if they are already discharged from the hospital that can be a source of their income for their family.
