1.INTRODUCTION.

It was extremely durable, light weight, water and chemical-resistant, insulator and versatile. It could be molded into almost any shape. Its properties could be modified to satisfy particular technical needs. Due to the ability of plastic to. This means that it cannot be broken down into simpler substances by microbial action. Hence, a plastic bag once manufactured, will not decompose and stay in the environment for years together, doing it great harm. A large number of fish, marine birds and animals like cattle and turtles are choked to death everyday by swallowing plastic bags.

Recycled plastics are being used every day in new construction projects. They can be blended with ‘virgin’ plastics or with other materials, such as wood, sawdust, and fiber composites.
Polymeric timbers made from recycled plastics are used in everything from fences and decks to picnic tables. Plastic from beverage bottles is even being spun into fiber for carpeting.

ENERGY SAVINGS:
A one-year study1 found that the use of plastic building and construction materials saved 467.2 trillion Btu of energy over alternative construction materials. That’s enough
