1. Introducción
Desde 1960 se ha usado la estructura de un marco de trabajo organizacional que sugiere que las empresas obtienen la ventaja competitiva sostenida implementando estrategias que explotan sus fortalezas internas a través de las oportunidades del entorno mientras neutralizan las amenazas externas y evitan las debilidades internas. Estudios recientes, se han enfocado primeramente en analizar las oportunidades y amenazas de la empresa en un entorno competitivo.
Este artículo intenta describir las condiciones del entorno que contribuyen a altos niveles de desempeño. Este trabajo ha adoptado dos asunciones: la primera se basa en que los modelos de ventaja competitiva asumen que las empresas de una industria tienen la misma estrategia de recursos. La segunda se basa en que los modelos asumen que la heterogeneidad de recursos existe en la industria, esa heterogeneidad tendrá un corto lapso de vida debido a que los recursos que utilizan las empresas para implementar sus estrategias son movibles. Estas acepciones eliminan la heterogeneidad de recursos y la inmovilidad como posibles fuentes de ventaja competitiva
Este modelo asume que las empresas pueden ser heterogéneas con respecto a los recursos estratégicos y su control. Además, asume que estos recursos no son tan móviles a través de las empresas por lo que la heterogeneidad puede tener una vida más larga. El modelo basado en recursos examina las implicaciones de estas dos acepciones para analizar la fuente de la ventaja competitiva

Focusing on this basic concepts surface others and these are explained by a Harvard Professor called Micheal Porter who is a leading authority on comapny strategy and the competitiveness of nations and regions. Mr.Porter generate a simply “The five forces framework” and we can simply understand power of buyers and input suppliers, industry rivalry, importance of types of goods and requirements to enter market. How these forces influence industry profitability is the important factor that a manager has to focus on. But the basic point of a firm is that maximize it’s profits and to do that a manager has to know “time value of money” concept. Let’s give an example about time value of money. For instance a firm make good investment and receive $10,000 cash prize from a supplier.
