                          Hi Detective Elfer, I was contacting you to inform you that I wish to withdraw my application for the upcoming training academy. My reason for wanting to withdraw from the process is for two main reasons that would prevent me from fully protecting the citizens of Gretna. The first reason is because of my age I am 19 years old and I make 20 years old in December. I was aware of the age requirements but I stilled tried because this is something I always dream of doing, to help out the community and I believe this is the best way for me to do that. The other reason was because of my physical fitness level it was not where it was suppose to be for a guy my age. I am determined to reach my goal by becoming a Gretna police officer that’s one reason I am constantly working on my physical fitness to be able to meet all requirements. I wish to close this application in good standards so when I meet the age requirements in December of this year, I can apply again with no problems and be physical fit. Ten months from now would give me an adequate amount of time to work on getting fit and staying fit. I truly appreciate you and the department for the time and consideration that was put into me and my application. I am still dedicated to serving the people of Gretna that’s why I am asking that if the department has any volunteer projects please feel free to call me so that I can volunteer. Again I want to say thanks to you and the entire department that gave advice, help, and support. I look forward to working with you and the entire department under the great administration of Chief Arthur Lawson JR., who is doing an outstanding job of helping keeping Louisiana safe and the people of Gretna safe.
