Radio Spot Jake Wilgocki
The target audience for a dry-cleaning store is primarily households with medium to low income, with a focus primarily on women, across different sectors of the market. Segmentation of this particular market is based on needs of customers and their level of income. An assessment on which demographic uses a dry cleaning service has shown that all households that are considered urban, and rural are in some need of such services within the target market. The purchase behavior of consumers can almost be considered guaranteed, and is looked at as an impeccable service if done properly.
The audiences show interest in knowing about a local dry cleaning firm and the media habits of the audience are very regular as the home makers are looking for a good quality service. Since women are typically more interested in such services, the media should target the audience at a time when women look at the television or switch on the radio. The perfect time would be when mothers are driving to school to drop and pick up their children. The preferred method would be a radio show, where any radio station speaks of the service. Any radio station on the FM channel would be the most ideal choice for this particular service.
The attention of the audience will be captured through a simple message of keeping clothes clean. The creative approach towards media attention will be a simple worded and heart rending message, which speaks about the importance of keeping clothes clean and well ironed. When consumers allow the assistance of a dry cleaning business, especially one that accommodates the needs of ladies, it allows them to keep up their stigmas of cleanliness. This is also all being accomplished and delivered at a price point which is affordable so it is never out of reach for the average consumer.
The media attention will be best captured using simple, homely words and phrases that will capture the attention of the households. The script for this simple dry cleaning audience

Laura Etheridge and Rita O’Donnell, the CEO and Creative Director of Clean Clothes (a Texas-based lesbian women’s clothing line) brainstormed together and came up with a tagline for their new slacks line: “Masculine Attitude, Feminine Fit.” They market the product on YouTube, Twitter, and Facebook showcasing their “Funky Femme” slacks collection, made from a material that resembles alpaca wool but is actually organic cotton. To further the advertising impact, the team uses an Ellen DeGeneres look-alike in the YouTube video, where the model does the “Ellen dance” – and mouths “love the pants” as she points to her legs, and then walks off leading an Alpaca by a halter. Within months, the slacks are a huge hit in the lesbian community. Clean Clothes sends a letter to their attorney asking him to trademark their tagline and moves forward without another thought about it.…

When everyone’s home from school or work, the whole family is chilling out in front of the television and waiting and or watching their favorite episodes that they can’t miss. Dinner’s Done creates an easy-to-prepare meal where the cook doesn’t have to miss a beat. Targeting our potential consumers on television is also cost effective, this is because we are able to send the same message to all members of the family using one medium. Using television as our medium will help control the company’s budget restriction also by being able to create one commercial and supplying it to consumers over and over again until interest starts declining. This being said, getting the potential customers interest through a television commercial is also hard work…

Until the arrival of the washing machine, washing clothes meant a few days of really hard work. Every week all, year long, there was a washday. A woman would scrub the clothes. “The soap, which they had made from lye, was not very effective but they could not afford to buy soap. Lifting the clothes out the vat and wringing them was an effort. Of course, their hands were raw and swollen.” (The impact of the washing machine on daily laving in post-1950 Santiago, Chile, 2006, pp.85)…

The core of market segmentation is satisfying the customer’s needs and wants. However, that is hard to achieve because all buyers have different perspectives and needs as well as customer’s needs and preferences easily change in terms of various industries which offer similar goods and services. Imperial Leather Soap aims at effective segmentation in order to make profits by analysing four types of segmentation which need to be identified (Alan & Tracy, 2002). These types include Geographic, Demographic, Psychographic and Behavioural segmentation.…
