A General Manager in a small National Airline Company obligates to present analytically to the board of directors the development of the production activity for the last six months. He is expecting from the Operation Manager to present the productivity of the company, to recommend ideas and techniques for improve its profits and enhance its service to society.
Course Title: Operation Management
INTRODUCTION
The operation of the company started with potential step before 6 years by firstly displaying with four small aircrafts focusing on inside national mission in big capitals of the city. These soft but steady steps lead us over every year to increase the income of the company, the aircrafts, the equipment, personnel as well. Development in national airline area is a big success of stems from the hard teamwork of all segments of company and fruitful forecasting from the operation management.
Operation management is responsible for each operation and its goal is to perform each of these operations as more efficient and effective as possible. This directly connected with productivity. When operations are performed at highest level of efficiency productivity is also improved.
OM activities related to the creation of goods and services through the transformation of inputs to outputs. To provide services we perform three functions. These functions are the necessary ingredients not only for production but also for an organization’s survival.
Marketing: which generates the demand or at least takes the order for a product or service.
Production: which creates the product.
Finance: tracks how well the organization is doing, pays the bill and collect money.
Are Mission until now was to provide services national in three big capital Athens-Thessaloniki, Patra and the last year in Kriti.
