Introduction
When one mentions the words Masters Degree in business Administration (MBA), most people will say that it has been done by too many people and that the job market is over flooded with people who have done that graduate programme.
People pursue masters in business administration for many reasons but wanting an MBA is one thing, being accepted into the program that closely matches your experience, skills and goals and getting the most out of it is another (Petersons 2009).
My reasons for doing an MBA
Doing an MBA helps one to develop diverse skills that are not just needed for business related careers but According to the Jungian Personality self-assessment I am an innovative, individualistic, versatile and entrepreneurial person and who would do well as a politician, strategic planner, literary agent publicist and executive. I would like to purse a career in strategic management and so doing an MBA would enable me to develop my career in strategic management because of many reasons:
i. To make me better at my job
ii. To be able to compete favourably in the job market
iii. To develop my self image.
iv. I will be able to meet new people
To make me better at my job
Doing an MBA enables one to be able to develop many skills that help one to do better in their career and doing an MBA would help me to develop my communication skills so I can be able to communicate better and hence better work. It will also help to develop my cross-cultural awareness and this will enable me to be able to work with different people effectively.
