It also talks about how this can have an effect on their personal life. “Employees who experience such incivility at work bring home the stress, negative emotion and perceived ostracism that results from those experiences, which then affects more than their family life – it also creates problems for the partner’s life at work,” said Merideth J. Ferguson, Ph.D.
I agree with things the article mentioned that incivility at the workplace can have an impact on people with their home life. From my personal experience I have had disagreements with co workers and it affected my personal life because you take the stress and anger home with you and it had an effect on my relationship with another.
I also agree with the article that incivility can have an effect on the relationship of the person and their families. However, I am not sure that the family members will take that resentment to their workplace. My dad would come over after a long day at court on a big case and he would be stressed out, he could be a big jerk and that had an effect about how the rest of the family perceived him. So whenever my brothers and I had a problem that needed fixing we went to my mom because of the distance that was brought on by the stress of my father’s job.
So in conclusion incivility in the workplace is not good, and employers should try to help. I think people should invest more in mind-body therapy to help them overcome their issues,
