Positive Psychology is the scientific study of the strengths and virtues that enable individuals and communities to thrive. Positive Psychology deals with encouraging good behaviors such as happiness, love, understanding, forgiveness and thinking about the good things in life. Martin Seligman and Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi are the psychologists credited with starting this happy movement in the late 1900; thus, they are known as the fathers of the modern Positive Psychology movement.( positivepsychology.org)

The philosophy of Positive Psychology is the same concept as an old cliché that has been around for a long time which states: "When life hands you lemons, make lemonade". Life is very unpredictable and no one knows what is going to happen from one day to the next: illnesses, death of love ones, loss of jobs and many other calamities will happen in life and these issues must be dealt with. Dealing with these issues in a positive manner allows individuals to heal quicker and continue on with life, although these situations are not necessarily positive situations, they can be dealt with in a positive manner.
