Psychological Disorders and Drugs
I did believe that drug therapy was better than talking therapy. When you talk to someone how do you know what they’re telling you is the truth? How do you know if what they’re telling you is real? Could they be just telling you what you want to hear? I think that with people with these disorders you don’t know. By giving them those drugs you know you’re helping stabilize their condition. You would still need to make sure that they are taking their medicine. But the medicine is designed to stabilize their brain.
Drug therapy is more effective than psychological forms for certain disorders. Although it shows the effect very quickly, the psychological shows lasting effects. Drug therapy only works when taken so when the medicine is not being taken your body doesn’t know how to react without the drug. Although there are certain disorders where medicine is required but can be combined with other treatments. Schizophrenia, bipolar and some depression are required these medicine. But like anything different therapies work for different people/cases. Some may do better with the drugs or other approaches.
I believe that they are over drugging now days. Many parents believe just because their children are very active that they are ADHD. That’s not the case I think just cause it’s been in the public eye more now than ever. At any sign parents can believe there children have it. I think parents need to just think about how their siblings were or talk to a family member to see how they were. By adding more activities or joining in on playing with their child could help. Many parents don’t spend as much time as parents did in the past. There wasn’t a lot of technology. For adults I think many people may feel depressed at times but take it to another level.
