Psychology is the science of human and animal behavior.

2. Define the perspectives listed below.
a. BIOLOGICAL/NEUROSCIENCE- the study of anatomy

b. PSYCHODYNAMIC- the study of interacting motives and emotions

c. BEHAVIORAL/LEARNING- the manner of behaving or acting

d. HUMANISTIC- is when a person has a strong interest in dignity

e. COGNITIVE- mental processes, memory, judgment

f. CROSS CULTURAL- is when two or more culture are combined

g. EVOLUTIONARY- development

3. What is the Scientific Method, and why is it important. (In your answer please discuss the many different steps of the Scientific Method).

The steps of the Scientific Method are Observation/Research, Hypothesis, Prediction, Experimentation, and Conclusion. Each of these methods are essential because it's a way to make sure that your experiment can give a good answer to your specific question.

4. What are the DESCRIPTIVE research methods? Please discuss some of the pro’s and con’s of EACH method.

The 3 main descriptive research methods are Observational Method, Case Study Method and Survey Method. In the Observational Method, animal and human behavior is closely observed. In the Case Study Method, it involves an in-depth study of an individual or group of individuals. In the Survey method, participants answer questions administered through interviews or questionnaires.
