1)Executive Summary:-
In this report we would like to present the strategic market entry plan for foreign apparel brands in India. Report structure is as follows-Introduction of Indian retail market and scopes for foreign apparel brands. Study of reasons and nature of the failure and previously acquired entry strategies by different brands. Then we will take a step further with factors to be considered while launching in terms of overall business environment in India from a combination of economic, political, legal, and infrastructural and consumer perspectives. For a smoother and successful entry brands has to acquire different types of ownership strategies and analysis with configuration, findings and suggestions. In summery our report is intended to reconcile the country specifics of India with the market strength and need of foreign apparel brands and strategies required for successful entry. 2)Research Objective:-

And moreover understanding the reasons for failure of some previously launched brands in Indian retail market. 4) Research Design:-

5.1) INDIAN RETAIL MARKET AND SCOPES:-
The Indian retail market, the fifth largest retail destination globally, has been ranked as the most attractive emerging market for investment in the retail sector by AT Kearney's latest annual Global Retail Development Index (GRDI).The retail sector is expected to contribute to 22 per cent of India's GDP by 2012. At present, the retail industry in India is estimated at US$ 400 billion industry. With rising consumer demand and greater disposable income, it is projected to grow to US$ 700 billion by 2012 with an expected annual growth rate of 30%, according to a report by global consultancy Northbridge Capital. Further, the retail sector is expected to rise to US$ 833 billion by 2013 and to US$ 1.3 trillion by 2018, at a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 10 per cent In absolute terms, this figure is very commendable but the actual contribution to the GDP comes only in the form of organized retail....
