Summer training in any organization is an attempt to provide student a practical input & Exposure to the real world situation in which he has to work in future. My training in Tata Motors, Pantnagar was an attempt in this regard. The project work provided to me was “Study of Central Excise Tax.” Tata Motors is today one of the most competitive & profitable Automobile Industry in India as can be clearly depicted by the analysis of its portfolio of Automobile services. Tata Motors has launched several for various categories of consumers to enhance its investments in Automobile sector. This project deals with this aspect especially with the Passenger and commercial vehicle features. The report has been prepaid and is presented under various heading as introduction, briefing, rules & valuation etc.

This project has been a great learning experience for us and I would like to express my gratitude towards all the people who guided me throughout and without whose guidance and support this project would not have been completed successfully. It is not possible to mention the names of all the people who came as more than help for me during the project. Nevertheless, I cannot stop myself from explicitly coming out about some who have guided us throughout the project. First of all I would like to thank Tata Motors for giving me an opportunity to work with them and gain first practical knowledge of the corporate sector. I am really out of words to express my heartfelt gratitude to Mr. S.B. Mahata and Mr. Jitender Khulve, Tata Motors (Pantnagar). Their contribution has been outstanding with regards to invaluable advice on all aspects of the project. I would also like to extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. Brijlal Arora, Asstt. Manager HR- SAP at Tata Motors for showing confidence in us and providing this opportunity to learn things from expert professionals. I am also thankful to all the Staff at Tata Motors. They gave me invaluable support and guidance throughout the project. To sum up, my experience with Tata Motors has been a valuable one. It was a great exposure.
