About Lake Palace, Udaipur:

1. Introduction:

The Lake Palace is located on Jag Niwas Island and streatches on the whole of 1.5 hectare of the island in the middle of the Pichola Lake. Built by Maharana Jagat Singh in 1743 it was meant as a royal summer palace and now converted in to a five star palace hotel. It was initially called Jag niwas after its founder Maharana Jagjit Singh.

Taj Lake Palace is operated on a management contract by Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL), collectively known as Taj Hotels Resorts and Palaces, which is one of Asia's largest and finest group of hotel. IHCL follows a very simple marketing strategy which is “offering the finest and most unique leisure experience”.

Awarded as the Leading Hotel of The World, Lake Palace houses 83 rooms including 17 beautiful suites and 53 Deluxe rooms. The rooms and the suites of the hotel are beautifully designed; each having a particular Royal theme & decorated with textiles and handicrafts of the region.
