AllMart - offering customers a full range of products including fashionable women's, men's and children's clothing, underwear, footwear, cosmetics, fragrances, and accessories; the latest designs in homewares, including manchester, bed linen, electrical appliances and décor; and a full range of toys, games and entertainment. Stores average 3,000 square metres of selling space, operate in metropolitan and major regional centres. AllMart Country - providing a limited range of Target merchandise including apparel and soft homewares, designed to meet the needs of the smaller communities in which it operates. Stores average 857 square metres of selling space and operate in smaller regional centres.
The AllMart story began in 1955 when four men opened a drapery store in Melbourne, Victoria after signing a partnership the previous year. The store primarily sold dress fabrics, manchester and furnishings. A pioneer of discount retailing, the business policy was: 'Half the Profit, Twice the Turnover'.
