What is required?
• A 6,000 word document on an industry of your choice

• You will be expected to choose an industry that has at least 3 companies quoted on the UK stock exchange
• Examples of “good” projects are available on NILE • You will not be able to chose companies from the Airline and Financial Services Industries • You do not need to register your project as you will be allocated a tutor based on your option choice form • Tutor information will be placed on NILE

What is Required
• Chose an Industry and at least 3 firms within the industry-justify choice

• Undertake an environmental scan of the industry (PEST analysis)
• Undertake Ratio analysis/other financial analysis of companies to determine the financial strength of the company in areas such as profitability, liquidity, investor ratios and share price performance. • Provide template that compares the financial performance of the best/worst company with the PEST analysis. This therefore will constitute a SWOT profile. Use appropriate scales for this comparative study • Prepare to analyse the relative performance of each of the chosen companies in relation to the template above. • Provide an objective conclusion • A bibliography
