Professional Knowledge and Abilities in the Culinary Field
I have a flair for cooking and enjoy making new and interesting dishes for my family and friends to try. I have dreamed for many years of opening a bistro or coffee shop to sell the baked goods and beverages that my family has enjoyed for many years. In searching for an association or organization that supports this dream. I found that this organization’s main reason for existence is to encourage and   assist with success in this profession. My career goal is to open a local pastry and coffee cafĂ© using all my baking experience and family recipes that have been down from generation to generation. I have done research locally to determine that there are no other businesses of this kind in operation. I have also researched the various organizations and associations that can assist me with achieving my goal.

I found two associations in the field that interest me. The first is The National Restaurant Association and the second is The International Culinary Arts. The former group is set up to assist owners of any size or style of restaurant with the business end of their company. Information is offered about how to be prosperous in the field and how to avoid business mistakes that could lead to eventual ruin.   The site also contains links to lobbyist groups that work with the government to pass regulations pertaining to the culinary field.   The NRAs belief that public education is the means through which most restaurants thrive is stated   in many of the articles and there are helpful links provided for other sites for more information. The latter group, The International Association of Culinary Arts is an organization bringing together people from all parts of the field of culinary arts and cooking.
