1.1 People communicate for many different reasons even if they are just trying to say hello. People may want to communicate with each other to share their ideas feeling and needs they also may wish to share their wishes with one another this is important as if an individual needs something and cant physical get it for themselves then you will need to assistance them to do so. You also have to communicate with each other to obtain and receive information. People also need to socialize and to do you to communicate. Socializing is important as if you don’t an individual can feel isolated and lonely. 1.2 Communication affects all aspects in working in an adult social care setting as it is important to record and share updates and you can only do this by communicating effectively with your co workers. You also need to be able to work as a team to get things done better with in your job role this also helps to support, trust and participate with each other. Not only is it important that you communicate well with your colleges it is also very important that you communicate effectively with the people you support, as it is important to understand what they would like as you don’t want to bring them the wrong thing then for example they don’t it and they go without lunch as that’s what you thought they wanted. Communication can also affect your professional relationship with the people you support as well as if you don’t take the time to find out how they communicate and how they like to be spoken to they just may decide to not co-operate with you. 1.3 It is very important to observe an individual’s reaction when communicating with them as this will give you a better understanding what the individuals is trying to express to you.
