DESCRIPTION OF BUSINESS

‘JUS RITE’ bakery is a sole proprietorship owned by Mr. Gregory. This business will be aimed at providing the town of Christiana, where the business will be located, and by extension the country of Jamaica with top quality baked goods.

MISSION STATEMENT
To provide our valuable customers with pastries which are:
1. Made to their satisfaction
2. Made with the best ingredients
3. Affordable

JUSTIFICATION OF LOCATION

The business will be located at 12 Main Street, Christiana in Manchester. Reasons for choosing this location are as follows: A. The population of Christiana has grown exponentially in previous years; this therefore provides a wide market or availability of potential customers. B. There is no such business in the area hence less competition C. In the area are some well known wholesalers and retailers which ensures the availability of suppliers

SELECTION OF LABOUR

To ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the business I will need to hire bakers, receptionists, clerks, and other semi and unskilled workers to do jobs such as packing, driving delivery trucks etc. With this said I aim to employ:

2 receptionists
5 clerks
8 bakers
15 persons to make up the packaging crews etc.
2 drivers

Hence a workforce of thirty-two skilled, semi-skilled and unskilled workers would be employed for this venture.

SOURCES OF FIXED AND WORKING CAPITAL

Fixed capital:
Of the loan secured from N.C.B., forty percent (40%) will be used to purchase equipment needed for production, as well as purchasing the premises on which the bakery will be built.

Working capital:
Working capital will be attained and secured through profits investment with Scotia DBG, totaling $300,000.00, funds from of fixed deposit account with N.C.B., valuing $200, 000.00, and a loan from N.C.B., valuing $4,500,000.00, with a life span of nine years at a 12% interest rate per annum.

ROLE OF THE ENTREPRENEUR

As the sole owner of this business it will be my duty to make and finalize all major decisions regarding the company. I will be the one to approve all credits, purchases and the...
