Princess Diana was influenced by both heredity and environment during her personal development. The influence of heredity was having been born into a royal family. Princess Diana was born to the then Viscount and Viscountess Althorp. She grew up living on the Queen’s estate and she spent very many of her days with the Royal Family, as she played with Prince Edward and Prince Andrew. The influence of environment of Princess Diana’s psychological development was influenced by the separation and eventual divorce between her parents when she was at a very young age. Diana’s father, Earl, and her mother, Frances, would often fight with each other, and Diana would often be a witness to the loud disagreements between her parents, both of whom she loved dearly. Perhaps because her parents whished that she had been born a boy, she may have felt at fault and worried that she was to blame for her parent’s unhappiness. Diana’s mother eventually moved to London and Diana’s father gained custody of both Diana and her two older sisters and younger brother. This was very hard on Diana because her life then became completely different. She would then begin to be raised by nannies and servants, and no longer had the tender care of her mother.
Later on in her life, Princess Diana formed a relationship with the Prince of Wales, Prince Charles. Their relationship was always in the spotlight and rumors were spread that the relationship was becoming very serious. The engagement between the two eventually became public and they married. There were always doubts that the two of them were right for each other and the Prince was thirteen years older than she was.
