Prejudice; I Should or You Shouldn’t
Prejudice can be dated back to biblical times even before Christ walked the earth. Cain and Abel were, according to the Book of Genesis, two sons of "Adam and Eve." Cain is described as a crop farmer and his younger brother Abel as a shepherd. Cain was the first human born and the first murderer, and Abel was the first human to die. Cain committed the first murder by killing his brother. The Lord had regard for Abel and his offering, but he did not have regard for Cain and his offering, Cain was furious, and he was unhappy. Cain was prejudice against his brother for having favor with the Lord he judged his brother because he had malice in his heart. He took him into the field and slew him. Religion and prejudice seem to go hand in hand. It seems you cannot discuss one without the other.

Prejudice is a thought, belief or attitude it, rears its ugly face in many different forms religion, race, political or even an alternative life style. It can be taught from infancy or be acquired after a life event. Some are natural, such as being a parent. A parent's natural instinct is to unconditionally accept what their child is saying without "looking at both sides" of a situation. Our goal is to protect our children and want the best for them, and expecting them to be perfect at all times. Not wanting your child to be wrong or guilty or caught doing something, or as the old saying goes “the hand in the cookie jar” can cause parents to be prejudice. Some are taught, such as prejudice against people who are of a different nationality, color or religion. This is not

just one-sided, for example, white against black. We all know the history of slavery and the oppression of black men and women, the struggles and fights they endured to gain equality.
