P5: Explain the influences of two predictable and two unpredictable major life events on the development of an individual
A life event can change the direction of our lives, affecting our personal development. Some major changes in life can be predicted and even chosen, while others may be unpredicted. Predictable life events, such as starting school, going through puberty and retiring from work, often mark a transition from one stage of life to another, acting as milestones in our personal development. Unpredictable life events, such as sudden illness or injury, redundancy or the death of a friend or relative, occur unexpectedly and are often associated with loss, but may also lead to positive change in our lives.
Like everyone Cheryl Cole will have gone through some predictable and unpredictable life events which may effect her physical development. She may also face more as she gets older too. If we say an event is predictable we mean that it is obvious in advance that it is going to happen for the target population. It is not one hundred percent certain but we are able to make a good prediction. An unpredictable event is something that no one could foresee it coming. Sometimes events in our life are unpredictable because what happens it not totally in our control. For example a divorce is an unpredictable event
Getting married is a predictable event because many people plan this event beforehand to enable things to be well planned for the day. Marriage takes a lot of planning therefore people get engaged to get ready for the day. Cheryl Cole got married to Ashley Cole on the 15th July 2006. Her physical, intellectual, emotional and social development will have been effected by this event.

Additionally the run up to getting married can create stressful situations because there is a lot to take in to consideration for one big day. This can include getting everyone in the right place at the right times for dress fittings, organising the caterers and the location, creating the invites, then inviting the guests. If this is not done on a time scale the organisation may not be done in time for the day making things stressful for the bride and groom. Cheryl may have encountered these problems in the run up to her wedding. However due to Cheryl having a good income from her music and television career stress will have been controlled with help of paid wedding planners. Furthermore when a wedding is being planned stress can be relieved by the help of family members. Stress can lead to illness which can mean that the immune system is low. During Marriage physical development can be improved by the way they look after themselves. In relation to Cheryl, materialistic items and money allowed her physical development to be healthy. However marriage is not solely based on what they are able to give each other. Marriage has a much more meaningful side and most people understand that physical terms are not the reason to get married.
Throughout Cheryl’s marriage with Ashley Cole her marriage may well have been affected with the amount of hours she was working. Long hours could mean a lack of time spent together which could create strain on the relationship. However a well balanced life can mean a successful relationship. That is if enough time is put a side to spend together. On a positive note Cheryl intellect could have been advanced when spending time with Ashley. When they visited place and went on holiday together, there cultural experiences may have had an impact on her intellect. During marriage individual success from each person is almost combined into one...
