The inspiration to build a professional, customer-focused junk removal service came to 1-800-GOT-JUNK? Founder and CEO Brian Scudamore in 1989 after watching a decrepit junk-hauling truck rolling along a McDonald’s drive-thru. Seeing the potential of this seemingly simple idea, he bought a used pickup truck and started The Rubbish Boys. Over the next 10 years, the business blossomed in Vancouver, B.C.
