Poverty is a condition in which people cannot provide themselves with basic needs for survival, such as clean water, food, Health care, education, clothing and shelter.
22,000 children die each day due to poverty
Which break downs to:
• 1 child dying every 4 seconds
• 14 children dying every minute
• Just under 7.6 million children dying every year
How would you feel if you were one of the 800million people who went to bed hungry each and every night? You would lay, shivering, listening to the unbearable sound of your stomach crying out in starvation, whilst billions of individuals around the world have excessive amounts of food. How would you feel if you knew that the same people were wasting their extra cash on unnecessary luxury items rather than donating just a few pounds to life-changing charities like us? £10 may just be spare change to us, yet it can feed an African family of 4 for over a week; for them it is a matter of life and death. The time to make changes has arrived. It is up to you and I to make a difference before the amount of people in this world’s population drown in an ocean of poverty. We must act fast and save lives.
For more than 60 years, Christian Aid has fought poverty, strengthened the poor, and turned hope into action. There vision is to put an end to poverty. There value is to put human lives first. The money is spent by long term development in fighting the symptoms of poverty. They also help those with poverty related health issues such as malaria and HIV and more.
Do something amazing this Christmas and help bring joy and love to peoples lives and end this poverty.
