Post partum depression is an illness that some mothers have encountered after the birth of a child. It begins as a common illness called the "baby blues", which is something a lot of new mothers encounter. This issue can be helped by family and friends, either by talking or however that person is comfortable in expressing those feelings. Sometime issues that have been going on in a woman's life have a very large impact on this depression. When a woman has a child it is usually a time to rejoice and celebrate; mothers who suffer (or claim to suffer) from postpartum depression do not have this time of happiness. This depression can become serious if is it not caught in the early stages.
