There are so many crazy things going on in the world today, is it too crazy to think that someone could be sick enough to viciously murder their own child? Children are murdered every day by individuals who if caught successfully plead insanity or may never even be caught. Children are precious and a vital element to our society, it is bad enough that we have to worry about protecting our children from drugs, sex molesters, and gangs. In the society that we live in today it is hard enough try and keep our children from killing, much less mothers from killing their children. The fact that someone could kill a child in the first place confuses me, but even more so the fact that a mother can kill her own child is absolutely horrendous. What could make this thought come across one’s mind? Even though they are often nerve racking, no innocent child deserves to die just because they annoyed their mother too much. There are plenty of mothers that are struggling to keep their children alive. How do we protect them from their own mother's?
Post partum depression is an illness that some mothers have encountered after the birth of a child. It begins as a common illness called the "baby blues", which is something a lot of new mothers encounter. This issue can be helped by family and friends, either by talking or however that person is comfortable in expressing those feelings. Sometime issues that have been going on in a woman's life have a very large impact on this depression. When a woman has a child it is usually a time to rejoice and celebrate; mothers who suffer (or claim to suffer) from postpartum depression do not have this time of happiness. This depression can become serious if is it not caught in the early stages. Mothers love their children with a deep passion and they should know to get help if they feel symptoms of this illness in any form.
