Learning Team 1 has been selected to assume the responsibility of implementing a large team project. The learning team will be comprised of 8 students from different backgrounds, with varying experiences. Research on the project will take approximately 4 to 5 months to complete, at which time all information will be compiled and submitted as one final project. In order for this project to be a success, all students must come together and inspire one another to do his best work in a manner that will be most effective. The team has chosen John Smith as its team leader. While John will have responsibilities in the completion of the project, his primary goal will be to discover way to promote trust and satisfaction among his team members, in an effort to lead them toward successful completion of the project.
During the initial meeting for Learning Team 1, John surveyed the group to ascertain what each member viewed as their own personal strengths and weaknesses. In an attempt to better understand his team members, John requested that each member complete a 100-question personality test. The test would provide insight as to how each team member would interact and react with one another during this project period. By discovering the personality types of the members, the team could better decide which students would perform certain tasks to their best potential.
The results of the personality test were astounding to John. The test revealed that 2 team members were personality type ESTJ, meaning that these members were logical, analytical, well-organized and have natural business leadership abilities. Two team members were personality type INTJ, meaning that they exhibit extreme drive towards implementation of the visions that they see in their minds for the success of a project. Four team members were personality type ENTP. ENTP’s are easily bored with the routine tasks of a project, but they are great trouble shooters.
