Project introduction, and its group classification
Our firm has been entrusted by the DUNAFERR Portolan llc. with the modernization of a 5/6t 32m portal crane built in 1990. Due to the high utilization of the port, the management have decided to modernize their cranes to avoid malfunction and breakdown of them. The modernized, PLC (Programmable Logic Controller) driven system is going to improve the functionality and efficiency of the crane. The new system is designed to extend the life period of the crane by refining the movements of the actuator and decreasing the physical exposure of the spare parts. The management of the port have considered the environmental impact of the operation of the port therefore the designed system is going to regenerate the electrical power, so it is going to use less energy.

Inside and outside factors determining the project process and project result Inside factors:



Allocation of resources; due to the restricted area of work floor, and number of employees the allocation of available resources is critical to delivery in case of simultaneous projects.



Sick-leave;



Maintenance work; unusual frequency of obligatory maintenance work (GYESEV Vasúti Terminál, Sopron; MOL Dunai Finomító, Százhalombatta ).



Process variation; excess deviation from the process specifications.

Outside factors:



Delay of suppliers; the production of the specific equipments needed (frequency converters, regenerator) is started after the order.



Solvency; insolvency of the (former)procurer is critical to delivery, it could cause delay.



Political uncertainty; projects needed to be delivered in the Middle East (Syria, Egypt) due to the past and present freedom fights are...
