“Say Yes to the Dress”
Popular Culture has always been something that many people pay attention to. The fashion magazines are always trying to find the new trends, figuring out what is in, what is out, and the social norms of today’s society. What people are wearing, watching, and listening to is one of the most important things to some people. One TV series that is a subject of this seasons’ Popular Culture would be the show “Say Yes to the Dress”. This show gives teenage girls and many women the chance to look at thousands of dresses and designers in New York City, and Atlanta. “Say Yes to the Dress” plays a big role in what I see as Popular Culture.
Coming home from a long day at school or a rough day at work, all I want to do is relax and watch Netflix. “Say Yes to the Dress” is my number one recommended show and no matter what kind of mood I’m in that day, this show always makes my day better. To me, this show is helping me get ideas for when I finally get to try on dresses. It shows all of the different types of dresses, what looks good on what body type, and it always makes women feel beautiful. This show is not like all of the other series that are cutting women down. “Say Yes to the Dress” shows women that they are beautiful inside and out, boosting their self-confidence. To me, my family’s opinion means the world to me and it is comforting knowing that this show encourages brides to bring the whole family for this special event.
The only bad part about this show is that all of the dresses are averaging $3,000. That is a really expensive wedding dress that many people cannot afford. Personally, my price range will be under $1,000.
