1. Where were you on the political map? (ie. Libertarian, Liberal, Centrist, Conservative, or Statist - make sure to include your personal and economic issue scores.)
After taking the quiz I am labeled as a Libertarian

2. Do you believe that your Personal or Economic issues had a greater influence on your final result? Why?
My personal and economic issues had a great deal of influence on my final result. My perspective on many different issues, just as many others, is shaped by how I’ve grown up and the way my parents taught me to see the world. I have two moms, so it is safe to say I would be much more open minded to the issue of Equal Rights. 3. After reading the description of the political group you most identified with, provide some feedback on your results? Do you agree or disagree and why?
I’m not surprised with my results, mostly because I read into what being liberal meant on the first page in the lesson. I agree with taking individual responsibility as well as promoting charities. In my opinion, this political stance encompasses a wide range of ideas.

4. Read through the other political philosophies at the bottom of the page. Pick the one that you disagree with the most and explain why.
The biggest disagreement I have is with the Neoconservatives. This is because it is just so right wing. I strongly stand by the notion that women should have control over their own bodies, and that the internet should not be censored. Faith should be kept out of public schools, not because I hate religion or anything, but just for the sake that school is education in history, and math and English. If you want to pray, please go to church other religions and faiths should not be offended or feel left out due to someone else’s beliefs. I also strongly disagree with the death penalty. In the worst case scenario, yes, someone should be put to death. But in my mind, it would serve some pedophile or

Polarization has existed for many years in the United States. The idea of polarization can be dated all the way back to 1787, in the Federalist Papers where James Madison discusses the dangers of that factions and groups can pose to the society. Madison's concerns stemmed from the uneasiness that political division has always existed in the United States. Even, Thomas Jefferson had his concerns with polarization and have seen firsthand of the factional disputes that occurred. So what does the term "polarization" mean in terms of politics? Polarization is when the public opinions go into two different extremes which create no middle ground or compromise. The polarization in politics is in regards to the division between organized groups and…

The typology that I received according to my results from this typology quiz was Next Generation Left. It is typically seen that those people who are a part of the Next Generation Left typically have liberal views, are supportive of an activist government, and wary of the growing social safety net. My results of this quiz surprised me in many different ways. When I saw what my typology was I was honestly very confused and do not agree with it. I do believe that there is an explanation for this result. While taking the quiz, there were many questions I had encountered that I was stuck in between each view. I believe that these questions might have had a large impact on my result. I believe that the thing that surprised me the most about my typology…

My placement on the political compass was lower left being closer to the libertarian side but on the political spectrum I leaned a bit more towards the left-wing. Overall, this states that I believe social factors should be made by society and the economy should be controlled slightly more by the people than the government. As a whole I do agree with my placement however, modern society’s adversities continually challenge as well as affirm my current political placement, so I’m remaining open-minded. For the most part however, I do hold more liberal views especially in social issues, thus, I have naturally grown more fond of the liberal party than the conservative party. Through this assignment, I have gained a more in-depth understanding and…

    Political Parties

The five agents of socialization heavily influence a person’s political beliefs and views on different issues. Family and friends can influence a person on major political positions and even affect if that person considers themselves liberal, conservative, or moderate. A liberal is open to new behavior or opinions and willing to discard traditional values. A conservative holds to traditional attitudes and values and is cautious about change or innovation, typically in relation to politics or religion. A moderate holds moderate views in politics and sits between the extremes of liberal and conservative beliefs. Because more Americans see both sides of complex issues and see both parties as overly ideological and wish politicians would compromise more, they identify themselves as moderates than as liberals or conservatives.…
