INTRODUCTION

CORRUPTION IN MALAYSIA

Corruption is define as dishonest or fraudulent conduct by those in power, typically involving bribery and the action of making someone or something morally depraved or the state of being so. Corruption and bribery is one of the many issues that bring harm to a country development. All developing and developed country will face these issues whether it is domestic or international. As a developing country, Malaysia also faced the same issue. This has become a major issue in our country. We can see lots of corruption news on the television also in the headlines of newspaper. Corruption can happen anywhere. As said in the definition above, corruptions usually conduct by those who in power which also called as ‘big people’ and have a stable source of money. In Malaysia, corruption is known as ‘duit kopi’. According to Nursyafinaz (The Star online, 2011), it is a culture that greasing the system to serve you first or faster in any transaction.

PROBLEM FACED

Many problems has incurred from these corruption activity such as, it causes loss of energy in any system over time. Such energy loss causes inefficiency. And increased inefficiency is very costly for any system stated by Nursyafinaz (The Star online, 2011). Malaysia will face another serious issue which is inflation, if too much corruption occurs in this country. Besides that, too much corruption also leads to inflation in a country.
