Dear friends and fellow NDC Men,

The period for a new election of National executives, to administer the party, being not far distant, and the time actually arrived, when our thoughts must be employed in designating the persons, who are to be clothed with that important trust, it appears to me proper, especially as it may conduce to a more distinct expression of the party and the public voice.

In looking forward to the moment, which is intended to elect the new national executives, our feelings must not permit us to   suspend the deep acknowledgement of that debt of gratitude we owe the outgoing executives and the party. For many honors it has conferred upon us by giving us a humble and incorruptible president Professor John Evans Atta Mills to Champion ‘the Better Ghana Agenda’; still more for the steadfast confidence which it has supported us with the Founder, His Excellency Ex-President Dr. Jerry John Rawlings for his inviolable attachment. If benefits have resulted to our party from these services, let it always be remembered to his praise, and as an instructive example in our annals, that under circumstances in which the passions, agitated in every direction, caging or imprisonment of our ex-ministers were liable to mislead, amidst appearances sometimes dubious, vicissitudes of fortune often discouraging, in situations in which not infrequently want of success has countenanced the spirit of criticism, the constancy of his support was the essential prop of the efforts.

Sensible of this momentous truth, we have improved upon our first essay, by winning the party into power for efficacious management of the country’s common concerns.
