Boella, M. (2000) The interview is the most commonly used method of selection.

“Job interviews are critical to the quality of an organization's people. Good job interviews processes and methods increase the quality of people in an organization. Poor job interviews methods result in poor selection, which undermines organizational capabilities, wastes management time, and increases staff turnover.” (online:unknown.2012)

The interview process should follow WASP interviewing structure wchich includes four simple steps:

W – Welcome – Greet the interviewee in a professional warm and welcoming manner.

A – Acquire Information – The second stage of the interview process is to acquire information from the interviewee by using funnel approach and behavioural questioning techniques

S – Supply Information – When the interview part is finish the interviewee should be given the chance to ask questions. The questions should give the further isight how preapered was the interviewee and how much knows or learned about the organisation

P – Part Ways – End the interview give the interviewee a time frame in which he can expect to hear from futher employer and part ways!(online:M-t-d.co.uk 2009)

This will put you in a position where you can freely ask follow up questions. In instances when the interviewee has a tendency to give limited (short, matter-of-fact) responses, use your probing skills—ask clarifying and follow up questions. Partners will have to be together in doing this.…
