PLAGIARISM – Writers’ Biggest Fear When people write their research papers about something, they usually face many difficulties like reach the teachers’ expectations, explain the idea, etc, but the most important thing is try not to plagiarize. Plagiarism works would not be accepted or counted and plagiarists would have to face very austere punishments . What is “plagiarism”? “Plagiarize is to steal and pass off (the ideas or words of another) as one 's own: use (a created production) without crediting the source; to commit literary theft; present as new and original an idea or product derived from an existing source” . “Plagiarism is the academically dishonest practice of using another’s words or ideas as your own.” . The punishment for plagiarists and plagiarism works are: “the failure of the assignment, the failure of the entire course, and/or suspension/expulsion from that school or university.” . Even though people know that plagiarism is bad and they can acknowledge what punishment they would received but many people still do it? Why would people plagiarize? According to Plagiarisma, there are five main reasons why plagiarism occurs:
“People do not know much about plagiarism; they only know it is bad, but still, they do not know what makes some people commit the act of plagiarism.” .
“People do not know how to cite their works properly and do not know about proper citation.” .
“People who rush to finish their works on the last minute and decide that plagiarize would help them finish their job easier.” .
“People find that the internet is a good tool for searching and copying the topics that related to topics they have to work on.” .
“People copy, steal, and use the works of other people do not believe that the original creators, teachers, professors, or instructors would catch them.”. It is not easy to write a paper properly and perfectly. There are many difficulties writers have to face when writing papers especially
