ABSTRACT

Chowgule & Co. Ltd. “shipbuilding division” has carried down the reputation of being excellent manufacturers in the field of shipbuilding. Piping is one of the most important aspects of shipbuilding which requires meticulous planning and advanced engineering. This project was given to us keeping in mind the fact that piping in general has a very broad base and has even wider applications in various industries. Thus it would be both beneficial and necessary to gain knowledge in this field. Apart from being a study project, it also attempts at problem solving; the major ones being control of vibrations, noise and overheating and pressure drop in pneumatic pipes.
