Physical Therapists treat patients to relieve their pain and increase their strength and mobility. A few things I understand about physical therapy is that: They care for patients with disabilities, injuries, or pain; They work with patients, doctors, assistants, and aides; They often wear a special uniform; They may work part time or full time; They have a master's degree or higher; and They have a license. Preparation for this job would be have a high school diploma or GED; have a bachelor's degree; have a master's degree or higher in physical therapy; complete an internship; and have a license. The helpful high school courses in steps to becoming a Physical Therapist would be Anatomy and Physiology, Computer Applications, Health Education, Introduction to Health Care, Nursing, and Keyboarding. The physical demands for a physical therapist includes standing for long periods of time, walking with patients, or walking to and from therapy equipment. The important demands for a physical therapist includes speaking clearly so listeners can understand, understand the speech of another person, see details of objects that are less than a few feet away, hold the arm and hand in one position or hold the hand steady while moving the arm, use fingers to grasp, move, or assemble objects, bend, stretch, twist, or reach out, etc. If you consider any of these examples important, than this is the job for you. Consider relationships important? They like to work in a friendly, non-competitive environment. They like to do things for other people. They prefer jobs where they are not pressured to do things that go against their sense of right and wrong. Consider achievement important? They like to see the results of their work and to use their strongest abilities. They like to get a feeling of accomplishment from their work. Consider recognition important?
