I arrived at the location and was met by Columbus Division of Police (CPD) Officers. The CPD Officer stated that my victim (Da’Michael Johnson) was transported to Nationwide Children’s Hospital the CPD Officer stated that the dog was currently in the backyard of 1405 Hildreth Ave unsecure. I knocked on the door of 1405 Hildreth Ave and received no answer. I went to backyard of that location, and saw a grey and white pit bull lying down not chained up. I slowly approached the dog, the dog got up and proceeded to charge me I utilize my Oleoresin Capsicum (OC) spray to prevent the dog from attacking me. All fieldwork, data processing and analysis were completed in-house by Ipsos-Reid Corporation, formerly known as Angus Reid Group. In addition to the attitudinal segmentation of pet owners, the main focus of the analysis is by the type and number of pets owned. The two major areas of the study are Pet Health and Pet Food. This report presents the main findings of the study in summary charts and tables. The complete statistical cross-tabulations of the results have been reported under separate cover. A copy of the questionnaire is appended. In addition to the Paws & Claws survey, a supplementary omnibus research was conducted in April 2001 with 1000 adult Canadians nation-wide to determine the incidence of pet ownership and attitudes toward pet…

Breeder’s Own Pet Food, Inc. is currently missing out on potential revenues from retail sales because they have not entered that market. Sales of dog food will total about $14 billion in 2011 at manufactures’ prices. There is a huge market and growth opportunity that they are missing out on. They need to make the public aware of the Breeder’s Mix brand name, what the packaging looks like, and the fact that Breeder’s Mix is a high-quality dog food. As well as direct dog owners to shop for dog food in the frozen-food section of supermarkets. They will have to overcome some key challenges such as overcoming potential objections to frozen dog food, lack of appeal of frozen food, pricing, and introducing a new food to a new market for their company.…

When you hear the words Puppy Mills, what are your first thoughts or feelings? Confusion? Anger? Sadness? Maybe you're asking "what are Puppy Mills?", and I will tell you. Puppy Mills are oversized and overpopulated facilities that are used to breed large numbers of dogs at a time and sell them across the nation to earn profit. These facilities are filthy and dangerous for even people to be in. The dogs there are bred over and over again until they either pass away or physically cannot produce offspring anymore, then they are disposed of. So maybe now you're thinking that these sound like an awful business and that they must be illegal. Unfortunately they are not.…

People may react to the fear of allergies or fear of being close to service animals. According to the ADA, it is not an excuse to deny service to those accompanied by service animals (disability.mo.gov). Again, if the particular person is at the risk of a severe allergic reaction, it is the duty of the establishment to seek a solution to accommodate both customers. A well-trained staff can make a significant difference when aware of policies and procedure on how to handle those with disabilities and accompanied service animals (ada.gov). For instance, employees can be trained on ADA regulations and hotel policies on accommodating customers with service animals. In a situation where the public refuses service animals closer to them, the handler…

“Animals are not ours to eat, wear, experiment on, use for entertainment, or abuse in any other ways.” (Peta) The topic I chose to protest for is animal abuse. Not just any animal abuse but circus animal abuse. Animals are fun and to see them do things animals don't really do. The thing you don’t see is how these circus animals are treated just to do the things you do see. These animals go through a lot believe it or not. Animals get parted from their family. They have no free wild time. They spend most of their life in cages and chained up. “ 96% of a circus animal's life is spent in chains or cages.” (Do Something) Circuses all started in the 14th century in Rome. They used animals just to show them off but not to make them do something.…

    Pet Overpopulation

    • 863 Words
    • 4 Pages

Pet overpopulation is an ongoing crisis and is a serious issue in every community. Each year thousands of animals must be euthanized and put to sleep because decent homes are not found for them. Abandoned dogs and cats are free to roam the streets where they must struggle to survive on their own. The number is approximately; 8 million unwanted animals taken into shelters all across the country. Sadly, more than half of them eventually become euthanized. Shelter euthanasia is the number one cause of death of cats and dogs in the states. (PAWS Chicago). Further actions and more laws should be enforced in order to fix the overpopulation of domestic animals. The causes of overpopulation are due to overbreeding, choosing not to adopt, people disposing of their pets, and irresponsible pet owners who choose not to neuter.…
