Persuasive Essay Paper

Not to long ago, the United States endured one of the worse terrorist attacks ever. This attack happened on September11, 2001. What I will be discussing in this paper will be a question that I believe needs an answer; can society benefit from allowing the appropriate individuals the right to bear arms?                                                                                         There have been many debates over the years concerning the questions on if owning a gun increases the risk of more crimes being committed, accidental deaths by owning a gun, and even the fact of an individual committing a crime that he or she would not have committed if he or she did not own a gun. Many studies have been done with different solutions and conclusions. This leaves an individual wondering what the truth is and what a lie occurs when one contemplates the possibility of purchasing a gun to protect themselves and their loved ones from harm. I would like to give an example of a real life incident that happened. Imagine finding out that a loved one was sexual abused by someone who was in his or her life for a short time. The person whom was sexual abused was threatened by a gun if they told anyone what had happened to them. Another family member finds out later what happened to this loved one, who was very close to his or her heart. This individual takes the law into his or her own hand and commits a crime to get revenge on the person whom sexually abused the other person.                                             The issue that I am trying to raise here does this person have the right to bear arms (which is stated in the U.S. Constitution), “A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed( United States Constitution, 1791),.
