Saving A Soul Bullying has been one of the biggest fears of kids for decades. Imagine a kid going to school, trying to fit in with everyone and all they hear is people laughing at him for the way he dresses or talks. Kids don’t realize they bully others, some do it to just fit in. Most schools don’t take it into consideration that maybe the students that are failing classes is because they are hiding out in the bathrooms ditching class to avoid being laughed at or that specific student in class that does nothing but bother them. There should be more attention put into bullying situations and into making groups to help kids cope with their traumatizing experiences.
Bullying is one of the biggest issues in schools due to the fact that not many speak up for the fact that people will just say “ brush it off it will pass”. There is about 42% of kids who get bullied online, and one out of 4 get verbally abused daily ( bullying statistics). It is also estimated that 160,000 kids miss school everyday, just to avoid being bullied (MBNBD). “ The school bullying statistics show that schools nowadays could no longer be a safe haven for our children. Sadly, schools have become a hunting ground for bullies and as long as they can freely lurk around, children will never be safe”( Aeshka). Think about how many kids are being home schooled and x that by 10, just so they can avoid bullying . Since bullying became a big problem in schools, schools have took little to no action. “ Over two-thirds of students believe that schools respond poorly to bullying, with a high percentage of students believing that adult help is infrequent and ineffective”( Berg). “ One in 4 teachers see noting wrong with bullying, and will only interfere 4% of the time” ( Berg)“ Bullying statistics are an eye-opener that bullyin is already taking its toll on our society faster than we ever have thought.
