Perspective on Health Care
Health to me means being healthy physically and mentally. In order to be healthy you have to start now and take care of your body by eating right, exercise regularly and see your doctor if you are experiencing any kinds of problems. A lot of health related conditions later in life can be prevented if you take care of yourself when you are younger. I have always been interested in health care for as long as I can remember. I like to help people, especially people that are in long term care facilities. After losing both of my grandparents two years ago, that is when I decided to go to school for health care. I miss them so much and when I would visit them in the nursing homes the staff was always so friendly and assisted them at all times (and I know that there are places like these that the staff may not be so friendly). I am a person that loves to give without expecting anything back in return. Obtaining my BS in Health Care will be the best gift that I can give myself as well as to others. I feel that I have been very lucky with the services that I have received when obtaining health care treatments. I am not sure if it because I go to the same place or not and they know me, but I can honestly say that I have never had a negative experience. I am not experiencing any increased costs for my health care services. My current employer has not raised our health premiums in 2 years, so that is a very good thing. I do not take any medications on a regular basis, so I do not see any increases there. My co-pay is $20 and I think that is very reasonable. No, I have not used an urgent care location or any other location to obtain faster services. I am a planner and if I need to see a doctor, I will always go to mine first and if I was not able to be seen then depending on how bad it was, I would go to an alternative location. I am a creature of habit...
