I have always had an interest in understanding how things work since I was a boy. I always find it thrilling whenever my father calls in a technician to run repair work in our house because I often join to watch things. Over the years in school, I developed a great interest in basic sciences and mathematics because I was amazed by the role science and mathematics played in helping mankind lead a better life. Through the advancements in Science, there has been all round improvement in quality of life and development to the society. By the end of secondary school, I started making my mind about what would be my next step. Based on my potentials, I was sure that I would do well in a technical course as I have always liked Maths and Physics. In addition, my father, who is a Nigerian civil war veteran, used to tell me stories of my ethnic group exploit in science and technology during the war. All these inspired me to believe in myself and aspire to make impact in engineering. Among the wide range of engineering courses available the one I considered to be the most interesting and related to my field of interest is Electrical and Electronics Engineering. After my graduation from Nnamdi Azikiwe University, where I received Bachelor‘s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering, I have been engaged by a government-funded electronics research institute as an engineer. In my role as a research engineer, I am involved in research and development of solar application based products. I have been involved in design of solar inverter, solar street light, solar charge controller, solar traffic light and other similar products. Through the institution where I work, we have executed a number of solar related projects for several clients in Nigeria using our designs. As a young engineer, my aspiration for great achievements motivates me to seek for high qualifications in the area of Renewable Energy to expand and consolidate on my professional skills....
