Personal Statement
The factors that motivate me to study in the fields of communication and language studies in Great Britain are my strong passion for both the English and Chinese languages, intense interest in works related to communication and language studies and confidence gained from my studies. After full preparation, I am honored to introduce myself and submit my application to the well-esteemed University of East.
As an English learner, I was drawn to Britain because of its rigorous educational system and the extensive and profound culture. During my years of English study, I have developed a strong interest in British society and culture. I am eager to visit the country that is the birthplace of the Industrial Revolution, the home of such gorgeous architecture, splendid history and renowned football. Moreover, among so many universities in UK, I have no doubt that your esteemed school is the best place for me to cultivate my temperament. I long to study in the home of such great people as Shakespeare and Newton and equip myself with the professional skills that I need in my career.
The most important lesson I have gained from my undergraduate life is to persevere in what I love to do. Since childhood, languages have fascinated me, so much so that I chose English as my undergraduate study. I am eager to pursue it with my remaining years not only for its vastness of application in economic, cultural and social life but also as one important area in my personal development.
English has opened up a world for me. Earlier this year, I audited the class of Interpreting solely out of my enthusiasm for language study. There it struck me for the first time that this is the life I would be all too happy to devote myself to. Knowing that to be a well-honed communicator is a challenging task, I have trained myself as much as possible in a variety of exercises.
