Materials
General Objective: Students will learn English words for happy, sad, angry, and surprised. Specific Objectives: Students will be able to:
* Repeat the words happy, sad, angry, surprised.
* Act out happy, sad, angry, surprised.

This week, I taught the kids to sing “If You’re Happy and You Know It.” That’s right, the same song you probably sang in kindergarten, and the one your mom probably sang, and her mom. The Parisian kindergarteners ate it up. For realz, they looooved it. And I have to say, they were an unruly bunch this week. (Let’s not even talk about how that one girl was nearly killed when she knocked over a whiteboard and it narrowly missed her head, ok?) But a little “happy and you know it” and a little “clap your hands” and the whole group was back on board. Here’s how I covered it (in real-live lesson plan form, no less): Grade: ESL Pre-K/K      Lesson Length: roughly 10-15 minutes General Objective: Students will learn English words for happy, sad, angry, and surprised.
