I personally agree with Virginia Woolf's thesis because when one is too dependent on others, as women were on men at the time, one can lose their sense of personal identity, as well as their social, emotional or physical skills which enables an individual to be a fully functional human being. An example of a case where money and fame lead to independence and the ability to write is the well known Oprah Winfrey. She experienced considerable hardship during her childhood, where she was abused. She was later sent to live with a man she called her father and from there she was able to climb the ladder to her success. She endured a dreadful youth, financially restricted and dependent on family members which only held her back from her potential to communicate and write her thoughts and opinions until she finally escaped that life and was able to receive and prioritize her education. Ergo, Oprah achieved her goals to co-host talk shows and co-author in multiple books by means of fame and money. Not to mention that she has helped disadvantaged women all over the world and inspired many to write.
Furthermore, a lack of privacy can result in constant interruptions in thought and will restrict one's originality and imagination. In my personal experience, when completing homework or an assignment for school, I always complete it in a relaxing environment, usually isolated. This is
