Memories for a life time
Everyone tells you that high school will be the best part of your life. But which part of high school is that? Is it sitting through long courses, the endless hours of homework, losing friends, getting your heart broken, or getting bad grades that you don’t deserve? When I look back at the last couple years of high school there was a lot of good and bad, but all the most memorable times was during extra curricular activities.
First of all, extracurricular activities have given me the opportunity to learn important life lessons that I will never forget. In sports I have learned from my coaches the importance of perseverance. They taught me to never give up on a dream and to continuously strive for it every single day. Drama has showed me that I could be fearless. Also, drama taught me to believe in myself and to ignore the cruel judgments of my peers. It is because of drama that I have learned to let go and to transform myself into a less timid person. Since then, I have been less shy when I present an oral presentation in front of the class. Extracurricular activities have taught me important values that I will use for the rest of my life.
Secondly, extracurricular activities are hard and challenging. Many people hate the thought of spending hours before and after school. But I love it! I adore waking up at six in the morning to go to school for sports. I also enjoy staying after school to help at play rehearsal. I love being pushed by coaches. Waking up sore the next day, or being covered in bruises from a game is worth it, because it signifies that I worked hard. Sports and drama are my biggest passions in life because it forces me to push myself and to challenge myself in order to become the best possible version of myself that I can be.
Finally, I will never forget the memories that come with being part of extracurricular activities. From all our jam out...
