PHI445: Personal and Organizational Ethics

Baltimore Washington Medical Center

The quality of services provided by medical care providers is highly influenced by a code of ethics that promotes the well being of staff, patients, and the community in which they service. Baltimore Washington Medical Center is a small, but growing hospital in one of several rural suburbs of Baltimore, MD. Its mission and vision statements, as well as leadership values have increased the organization’s notoriety among staff and the community it serves. My research of   BWMC’s mission, vision, and leadership statements, and other informational resources will enable me to present a written reflection on how my personal values, missions, and ethical beliefs coupled with this BWMC’s code of ethics prepares me for a future role as manager.
Personal Values, Mission, and Ethical Beliefs
Personal values, visions, and ethical beliefs have guided my actions as an employee at BWMC. As a future manager, equality, honesty, and accountability are the values that will allow me encourage my staff to perform at the highest possible level. A better quality of living for others is a vision that will encourage me to fight for fair salaries and benefits for staff regardless of job status. My ethical beliefs will enable me to manage without prejudice, to communicate openly, to do what is necessary to maintain a positive working environment.
Workplace Values¸ Culture, Vision, and Code of Ethics
Baltimore Washington Medical Center was established around the mission of wanting to provide high quality healthcare services to the community they serve.
